aging articles & resources blog moving planning for aging selling senior living

Moving can be a daunting process, filled with stress and emotional strain. Not only do you have to pack up a lifetime's worth of belongings, coordinate various service providers, and manage timelines, but you also have to ensure that your cherished possessions are handled with care.

In today's fast-paced world, families may not always be available or equipped to assist with a loved one's move due to factors like geographic distance, busy schedules, or other life demands. This can lead to added tension among family members, especially if they don't fully appreciate the sentimental value attached to certain items.

Who are Senior Move Managers?

To ease the burden of moving, it's helpful to explore resources available to support major life transitions. One such resource is a Senior Move Manager®, a certified professional who specializes in assisting older adults with every aspect of downsizing and transitioning to a smaller living space.

Senior Move Managers® are trained and experienced in guiding older adults through the emotional aspects of moving, organizing belongings, downsizing, packing, coordinating estate sales or donations, space planning, advocacy, supervising movers, providing post-move support, unpacking, and setting up the new home.
